Compliance Champions Workshop Brings Auto Finance Leaders Together

Signature Events,

The NAF Association welcomed compliance professionals and auto finance leaders to Irving, Texas, September 9–10, 2025, for this year’s Compliance Champions Workshop at the Texican Court.

Designed with today’s rapidly shifting regulatory environment in mind, the Workshop delivered practical training, peer-to-peer dialogue, and real-world strategies for building stronger compliance programs. With federal-level uncertainty and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in flux, state-level activity took center stage in discussions.

“This workshop reinforces our commitment to providing members with not only education, but actionable tools they can apply immediately within their organizations,” said Jennifer Martin, Executive Director of the NAF Association. “The strong engagement and thoughtful dialogue made this one of our most impactful compliance events yet.”

What Made the Workshop Stand Out

The two-day program, presented in partnership with Hudson Cook LLP and co-facilitated by industry attorneys Eric Johnson and Patty Covington, featured:

  • Expert-led sessions on regulatory trends, enforcement updates, and operational best practices.

  • Small group discussions where attendees shared challenges and strategies in a candid, peer-to-peer format.

  • Networking opportunities designed to connect compliance leaders navigating similar issues.

“The energy and engagement from participants exceeded expectations,” noted Eric Johnson, Partner at Hudson Cook. “It was clear that the Workshop not only deepened knowledge but also inspired practical strategies for strengthening compliance in day-to-day operations.”

Building a Culture of Compliance

The Compliance Champions Workshop is part of the NAF Association’s broader commitment to compliance education. Alongside this event, NAF offers specialized programs for compliance officers and frontline staff, helping member companies embed a culture of compliance from leadership through daily operations.

Patty Covington, Partner at Hudson Cook LLP, reflected: “In its second year, the Workshop was another success! Attendees discussed the shifting focus of compliance from federal to state, and they walked away with tangible information to refocus and align their compliance practices. Members deeply appreciate NAF’s commitment to keeping the industry informed on legal and regulatory issues.”

Looking Ahead

The momentum doesn’t stop here. Planning is already underway for the 2026 Annual Conference, June 2–4, 2026, at the Omni Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.

Stay tuned for more updates as NAF continues to bring the industry together to share knowledge, sharpen strategies, and strengthen compliance.
