Professional Bio
Betty Jotanovic is President of Auto Relationships at Santander Consumer USA, the auto business within Santander US and one of the nation’s largest auto lenders, where she oversees the company’s retail and commercial originations across the automotive industry. With more than three decades of experience spanning the automotive and financial services sectors, Betty brings deep expertise in sales, credit, funding, servicing, collections, business strategy, and treasury operations.
Betty began her career on the assembly line of a Detroit auto plant, gaining firsthand insight into the industry and the value of teamwork, resilience, and inclusion. That experience continues to shape her leadership philosophy—leading with purpose, breaking barriers, and creating opportunities for others to thrive.
Prior to joining Santander, Betty led the credit and fulfillment organization at Bank of America for the automotive, RV, and Volvo Captive Finance business lines. She had also previously led the servicing and collections organization at Bank of America Auto. In addition, she held senior leadership roles at GE Capital and Chrysler Financial and has led global teams overseeing accounts receivable operations in 19 countries.
Betty is a recognized industry leader and advocate for innovation and inclusion. In 2025, she was named one of Automotive News’ “100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry,” and in 2024 she received the Auto Finance Excellence Award in Leadership from Auto Finance News.
She currently sits on the Board of Directors of the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) and serves as Executive Sponsor of Santander US’ THRIVE Business Resource Group (BRG).
Betty is a licensed attorney with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a Juris Doctor, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Wayne State University Law School. She resides in Dallas, Texas, with her husband, has two sons, and enjoys traveling and spending time at the beach.
