Consumers today can quickly find a motor vehicle, complete the purchase and financing, and take delivery - all with nothing but a smartphone or other electronic device. And they can do it remotely, without ever leaving the comfort of their own home. Unfortunately, most of the state and federal laws designed to regulate motor vehicles sales and financing were written decades before the electronic technology that enables these transactions. We will talk about the potential hazards associated with completing motor vehicle transactions remotely and the pitfalls of these transactions on the unwary financing sources that buy them. This webinar will focus heavily on how remote transactions are regulated differently and how this potentially impacts licensing, disclosures, choice of law, assignee liability, and more.
