George Fussell

Starting in 1979, George grew his used car dealership to once be the largest independent dealer in the state of Florida. In 1997 SAFCO was founded in 1990 as his captive lender.

In 2004, after the sale of his dealership to AutoNation, SAFCO began offering indirect financing for dealers throughout Florida, Texas, and Georgia. By 2021, the company was operating in 32 states.

SAFCO is recognized for approaching the subprime auto finance industry with the business philosophy that a finance company exists to help customers “for a better tomorrow.”

George has transitioned SAFCO from a traditional, manual-based finance company into a technological and data-driven organization. By investing in the latest technology, he has enabled SAFCO to provide the same fast service as large competitors. Accompanied by talented and capable staff, George has ensured that SAFCO initiatives are properly executed.
